The Shop with a Cop program was the work between this department’s officers and the Dream Weavers Motorcycle Club.  The Dream Weavers raised money all year long from business donations, calendar sales, roadblocks and held a benefit dance in October.  It was the police officers who assisted in the donations and then went to the East Alton/Wood River, Roxana, Bethalto, and Hartford school districts to gather the names of needy children.  The children were allowed $300.00 for clothing, family and personal gifts.  The program also donated $1000.00 to the schools for their Christmas programs.
