Officer Profiles

Dwynn D. Isringhausen
Chief

Major Chief Isringhausen began his employment with the Village of East Alton in 1986 as a dispatcher/clerk. In June of 1989 he was promoted to patrolman after successfully completing the testing procedures. Chief Isringhausen worked in the detectives division before being promoted to the rank of Sergeant in 1997 and Chief on August 5th, 2008.

Chief Isringhausen currently holds an Associate Degree from the Lewis and Clark Community College in Criminal Justice. Chief Isringhausen is a member of Phi Theta Kappa academic fraternity, and is listed on the presidential dean?s list. Chief Isringhausen has successfully obtained training in Basic Swat. Chief Isringhausen has also completed training and holds the position of instructor in numerous aspects of defensive tactics.

Eric Staten

Sergeant of Patrol

 

Eric Staten started his career in 1990. Sgt. Staten attended Alton High School. He worked at the Godfrey Fire Department and graduated at Lewis and Clark Community College with a AAS in Criminal Justice before being employed at East Alton Police.

 

Brian Archer

Sergeant of Patrol

 

Sergeant Brian Archer has lived in the East Alton area his entire life.  Sgt. Archer graduated from the East Alton – Wood River High School in 1985 and immediately joined the US Marine Corp after graduation.  He arrived in San Diego, California just three days after his high school graduation to start a 6 year enlistment.

After training, Sgt. Archer was first assigned to Marine Security Forces Battalion in the Philippines.  He served over a year (15 months) as a Corporal of the guard and Reactionary Force team leader.  He was next assigned to the weapons company, 2nd Battalion 9th Marines, 1st Marine division.  He served 4 ˝ more years as a squad leader in the assault platoon.  He was deployed twice to Okinawa, Japan and again to the Philippines in 1990 and 1991, where his platoon was assigned to defend Naval and Air force Bases against terrorist activity during Dessert Storm.

After his discharge, Sgt. Archer was employed in the security field prior to being hired by the East Alton Police Department in 1994.  He was promoted to Sergeant in 2004 He holds the position of firearms instructor.                     

Brent Wells

Sergeant of Patrol

 

Sgt. Wells enlisted into the Marine Corps after high school. He served as infantrymen having the opportunity to deploy in Operation Desert Storm and in Central America.  He received an Honorable Discharge with the rank of a Sergeant.  Officer Wells received a Bachelor Degree in Criminal Justice and was promoted to Sergeant in 2005.

Before employment with the EAPD, Officer Wells worked at Menard Correctional Center as an officer.  Officer Wells held a position on the Tactical Response Team and received the team's officer of the year award. Officer Wells also worked as a part-time Police Officer for the Marissa PD.

He joined the East Alton Police Department in January of 1997 after finishing the police academy.  He received the S.I.P.C.A. award for outstanding performance at the police academy. He also serves as the firearms instructor, gang crime expert and is certified by the DEA in clandestine lab operations. 

He currently serves as the PB&PA Unit #78 president and is a member of the Major Case Squad.  Officer Wells enjoys living in the community and serving the police department in keeping the community safe. 

Charles Keshner
Sergeant of Patrol

Sgt. Charles (Charlie) Keshner had a lifelong dream of becoming a Police Officer.  Sgt. Keshner completed his Associates degree in Criminal Justice from Lewis and Clark College.  After graduating, Sgt. Keshner started his career as a Police Officer for the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department.  He served as a patrol officer with the St. Louis Police Department for over four year. 

Sgt. Keshner decided he wanted live closer to his home town, Godfrey, so he decided to apply for the East Alton Police Department.  Sgt. Keshner was hired in the latter part of 1999 and was promoted to Sergeant in 2006.  He currently serves as a bike patrol officer, Taser Instructor, field training officer and is a the Vice President East Alton PB&PA unit #78.  He received a letter of Accommodation in 2000 for outstanding performance.

Dave Shook

Sergeant of Patrol

 

David Shook attended East Alton Wood River High School and has lived in the area all his life. David Shook started his career in 1996.

Officer Shook is a member of the Major Case Squad and an accident reconstruciton investigator. He was promoted to Sergeant in August 2008

Jeremy Tarrant

Patrol Officer

 

Officer Tarrant attended the police academy in 2002. During his training at the police academy he received second place in marksman shooting.  Before joining the EAPD, Officer Tarrant served in the United States Army for over seven years.  He is a former sergeant in the United State National Guard and has spent seven months deployed in support of operation Enduring Freedom.

Christian Cranmer
Patrol Officer

Officer Cranmer attended Marquette High School and began his career after being a police explorer and a intern for other departments. Cranmer started his career in 2004. Cranmer looks forward in serving the community and working at the job he loves.

Michael McCormick
Patrol Officer

Officer McCormick attended Edwardsville high school and worked as a part time officer at another department before coming to East Alton Police in 2005. McCormick looks forward in serving the community and working at the job he loves.

Aaron Burns
Patrol Officer

Officer Burns graduated from Vandalia Community High School and had aspirations of becoming a Police Officer. Burns joined the U.S. Coast Guard in order to get Law Enforcement training, experience and financial assistance for college. While in the USCG Burns was stationed on a 110ft Coast Guard Cutter that was responsible for Search and Rescue and Law Enforcement throughout southern U. S. and Straights of Florida. Burns then transferred to USCG Small Boat Station Key West and continued his career in Search and Rescue and Law Enforcement throughout the Florida Key’s. Burns then pursued his goal of becoming a Police Officer and became a USCG reservist.

Officer Burns began employment at East Alton Police Department. During the Police Academy Burns graduated with top honors receiving; 1st place in Physical Fitness, 2nd in Fire Arms Competition and Most Outstanding Cadet in his academy session.

Robert Hill

Telecommunicator

Robert Hill joined the East Alton Police Department in 1989 as a dispatcher.  Hill has served as the LEADS Coordinator and the 911 emergency coordinator.  He has been instrumental in maintaining the upgrades within the department's communications department. 

Hill has utilized his talents in tracking offenders and gathering pertinent information for investigation purposes.  Hill has worked as a dispatcher for both the Bethalto Police Department and Glen Carbon Police Department. 

Sharon Price

Records Clerk / Telecommunicator

 

Sharon Price works as the records clerk for the police department. She joined the department in 1990 and serves as the LEADS coordinator and the 911 emergency coordinator.

 

David Knight

Telecommunicator

 

Dave Knight attended East Alton Wood River High School and joined the department in 1996 after serving three years in the US Army. Dave Knight's calm ability to handle emergency calls and deal with serious incidents at the communications department are extremely valuable and an asset to the department.

 

Shannon D. Hobbs

Telecommunicator

 

Telecommunicator Hobbs began his career at the EAPD over 29 years ago.  He joined the EAPD as a patrol officer and then retired over 27 years later as the Administrative Sergeant.  Since his retirement he joined the EAPD as a telecommunicator.
